Lifeguard

Skycroft lifeguards are responsible for monitoring pool activities and ensuring the safety of campers and guests in Skycroft’s pool by guarding & providing first aid as needed. Lifeguards also maintain a welcoming environment for pool patrons by cleaning pool facilities and providing customer service as needed. Applicants that are strong swimmer and enjoy being outside should apply!

Applicants should be Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED certified by the start of the summer sesaon.

Must have reliable transportation and be able to work weekdays and weekends.

Part-Time Baker

We are looking for a Baker to prepare a variety of delicious baked goods (cakes, cookies, breads, rolls, desserts, etc.) for our retreat guests and campers. This is a high volume food service environment, serving between 50-300 guests at each meal. The Baker will follow established recipes that work for our high volume setting, while also having opportunities to develop and incorporate new recipes.

When time allows, the Baker may also participate in other aspects of meal service at Skycroft by assisting with food preparation, serving meals and cleaning the kitchen and dining areas.

This is a part-time position, averaging 20 hours per week. Daytime shifts. Weekdays and some weekends required.

HeBrews Coffee Shop Team Member

HeBrews is Skycroft’s coffee and snack shop, a bustling center of activity on our campus. Here guests can grab a latte or a handspun milkshake and sit down to enjoy a good conversation, board game or even late-night karaoke during the camp season. HeBrews staff are some of our most guest-facing team members during the summer and, as such, team members should exemplify friendliness and hospitality.

HeBrews attendants are responsible for running the register (taking orders and payments), making specialty coffee drinks and milkshakes, scooping ice cream and preparing snack orders. They also clean and restock the store at the end of each shift which includes washing dishes, cleaning tables and counters, sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, etc.

Ability to work late-night shifts strongly preferred. Must have reliable transportation.

Housekeeper

The housekeeping team provides a clean, safe and welcoming environment, allowing Skycroft retreat guests to relax and enjoy their retreat programs free of distractions. Previous experience in housekeeping preferred, but not necessary. Most shifts scheduled for Monday-Friday, daytime only but applicants must be able to work some weekends.

Recreation Team (Must be 18+)

Recreation Facilitators work hard so our campers and retreat guests can play! Recreation team members facilitate our high ropes course, zipline and Confidence Course, which includes leading groups through team-building challenges. Recreation Facilitators also set-up and run Paintball, Bazooka Ball and our Damascus Road Waterslide.

Most of our recreation activities require facilitators to be at least 18 years old. Additionally, facilitators must complete training to obtain site-specific certification to run our Adventure elements (ropes courses, zipline).  Mandatory training dates for the 2024 season are June 1-2. Work for our Recreation Facilitators can be physically demanding, but this position is among the most rewarding at Skycroft as they interact with guests creating a fun and safe environment that facilitates personal growth.

Food Service Team Member

Food Service staff help provide an excellent dining experience for Skycroft retreat guests in a clean and welcoming atmosphere. Staff participate in all aspects of food service at Skycroft by assisting with food preparation, serving buffet-style meals and preparing the kitchen and dining areas for retreat guests.

Some weekdays and weekends required. Shifts generally run as follows: morning shift – 6:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.; mid-day – 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; afternoon shift – 1:30-8:00 p.m.
